At a recent meeting of Wadhurst Parish Council, it was agreed that we would
petition local residents to see if you would support making this public house an
Asset of Community Value (ACV). This means that if the building was ever
going to be sold to someone who wasn’t going to run it as a pub, the Parish council would be notified and would have six months to raise the funds to buy
it on the open market.
Too many pubs have been turned into housing and Wadhurst Parish Council
are determined to do all we can to prevent losing any more.
Please note you must be on the electoral role (ER) in Wadhurst to participate
If we are successful in making this building an ACV we will be conducting
further polls to see if residents would support a community buy out.
This has nothing to do with the present operators of this pub who are making a
tremendous effort in very difficult times and deserve all our support.
The Greyhound has been there forever. We cant just let these places turn into more flats. Keep the heart of the village alive.
