In recent months, some Native American tribes in Maine have requested that Skowhegan Area Highschool stop using Indians as their name and mascot/logo. As a community we take great pride in our name and community heritage. This petition will be presented to the MSAD #54 School Board of Directors as a voice that the people of Skowhegan, Norridgework, Canaan, Smithfield, Mercer and Cornville want our Highschool's name and mascot/logo to remain the Indians.
