Petition to install a Traffic Signal at the intersection of W. Memorial Road and N. Harvey Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73114
We the undersigned request the Oklahoma City Public Works to install a traffic signal at the intersection of W. Memorial Road and N. Harvey Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The W. Memorial Road and N. Harvey Avenue T-intersection is unsafe, as it experiences high traffic volumes, high speed and lack of left turn lane on N. Memorial onto N. Harvey Avenue. Additionally, during peak hours it is unsafe to make a turn from N. Harvey Ave onto W. Memorial Road. Please note that there is no access for traffic from N. Harvey drive. We have observed cars screeching in near-miss collisions on this un-signalized intersection and we are very concerned about the safety of our employees and the traveling public. A traffic signal is needed to improve the safety at this intersection.
Our signature serves as official notice to the City regarding our support for the traffic signal at the intersection of W. Memorial Road and N. Harvey Avenue, Oklahoma City.

I see the near misses at this intersection every single day and your stories confirm that I am not just being paranoid about the danger. I am currently working on a formal request for a traffic study to present to the Public Works department so they can finally see the reality of this road.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms my fear that I am not the only one holding my breath every time I turn onto Memorial. Knowing so many people feel this same urgency makes me realize how dangerous we have let this intersection become for our community.

This is a heavily travelled junction due to presence of several small businesses and a school on Memorial and Harvey during peak hours. A traffic signal is a necessity to ensure safety. Thank you!
A traffic light becomes very necessary with the anticipated increase in traffic due to new development and some more in the near future.
Because of the sun in the afternoon and the road going downhill, it is very hard to see when the road is clear enough to turn. A traffic light would really help!
There have been several near-miss collisions with respect to vehicle traffic. Heavy traffic patterns on Memorial during the mornings and afternoons result in long wait periods for drivers travelling east/west or turning left to travel north/south. Developing a traffic light on Memorial and N. Harvey will enhance public safety. I strongly back the proposal for a traffic light at this intersection, especially considering this is for a school and the safety of our children and families are at risk.
Morning and evening time it is very scary to take turn on or off memorial road, specially left turn

It is to hard to get to school with all the traffic. It turns out to be a competition on who will go first.
