We, the undersigned employees of IUOE, respectfully and wholeheartedly request the reinstatement of Sir-Walter to his position as Front Desk Clerk.
Sir-Walter is, without question, one of the most beloved members of the IUOE Training Center . His high energy, exceptional professionalism, and warm demeanor have made him a central figure at IUOE, and it is no exaggeration to say that many of your clients, colleagues and students specifically seek out his presence because of the unique atmosphere he fosters. His approachability and enthusiasm have created a welcoming environment that reflects the true spirit of our union and all our locals combined.
Throughout his tenure, Sir-Walter has consistently exemplified the highest standards of work ethic. He has never been late, has never been written up, and has faced no disciplinary issues. In fact, he is so dedicated that he often comes in on his days off to ensure the smooth operation of the front desk. His commitment to his role and the organization is unparalleled, and his absence has been keenly felt by all of us.
We acknowledge that Sir-Walter was let go due to an isolated incident (Which took place on his FREE TIME). While we recognize the importance of adhering to workplace policies, we firmly believe that this mistake should not overshadow his exemplary record or define his character. Sir-Walter has always stood as a positive example for all of us, demonstrating what it means to be a dedicated and responsible member and brother of the IUOE.
The values of our union has always been—comradeship, brotherhood, solidarity, and setting an example for others—are principles that Sir-Walter has embodied in his work every day. His reinstatement would not only restore an invaluable team member but also reinforce the standards of excellence and mutual respect that IUOE stands for.
We respectfully request that the IUOE leadership reconsider this decision and allow Sir-Walter the opportunity to return to his rightful place within our team. As an example of the unity, that we as a union stands for.

If the reason is true that he was let go because of people riding in the back of his truck on his own time that were out drinking at a bar,well they are all adults and therefore they are capable of making their own decisions on there safety.
Sir Walter has done nothing but shown me respect and kindness. I was at ITEC multiple times in 2024. He has always gone above and beyond what his job entails. Please reconsider this decision and reinstate him.
Please reconsider and Put him back to work. He treated all us Union Brothers like family.
I am personally grateful for Sir Walter and his dedication in providing a safe and enjoyable environment at the IUOE-ITEC. He has been a guardian to many members at the training center and I truly believe the termination of his employment will have a negative impact on ITEC attendance in the future. In solidarity, A. G.
When i needed some essentials from walmart i decided to make a quick trip there.. i waited two hours for and uber and i was stuck at walmart.. with no other options another student suggested to call sir walter (on his day off!!) and ask for a ride.. he came right away and i was so thankful!
Please reinstate sir Walter he is a great man and I believe he does a fine job and he is always very professional and helpful to everyone.
He’s the best I’ve seen and didn’t deserve termination for having a 2nd job

As a regular visitor to IUOE, I have witnessed firsthand the warmth, professionalism, and positive energy that Sir-Walter brings to the organization. His presence at the front desk has consistently made my visits more pleasant and welcoming. Sir-Walter’s dedication to his role is evident, and it is clear that he is a valued member of the IUOE community. I strongly support his reinstatement and believe it would be a positive move for both the team and visitors alike.
