Dear Office of Child Care,
We are writing this letter in support of Smart Fit Kids application to resume its service to provide before and after school martial art and fitness to our children. Smart Fit Kids first opened their doors in 2013, and have been offering and exciting and enriching Before and After School program for children in the Severna Park and Arnold areas. Some of our children have been attending Smart Fit Kids for years, and the organization has become a staple within our community. As a parent/guardian of a child that has attended Smart Fit Kids, I can attest to the following:
Ø Smart Fit Kids has a great reputation and a huge footprint in our community and does an outstanding job for our children’s growth and development.
Ø We heavily rely on Smart Fit Kids to care for our children while we are out making a living for them.
Ø Smart Fit Kids has been providing an enriching and enhancing before and after school program for our children for nearly 5 years.
Ø To some of our children, Smart Fit Kids is considered home away from home.
Ø Our children have consistently excelled academically, emotionally, and physically because of Smart Fit Kids.
While we respect and appreciate your decision regarding Smart Fit Kids, we would like to respectfully state that we trust and respect Smart Fit Kids operations, and its intentions to always do the right thing. For these reasons, we ask that you kindly look into expediting your process for Smart Fit Kids to resume its service and provide a provisional childcare license to Smart Fit Kids in order to minimize interruptions in our children’s daily routine.
Some of Smart Fit Kids parents are health care professionals, lawyers, government employees, and active military soldiers who work around the clock serving and keeping our community healthier. We can only continue to do this with the help of Smart Fit Kids’ ability to care for our children as we care for our community.
Our children are presently devastated and stranded, and as parents it’s our responsibility and duty to provide stability for our children. We desperately need your help. We sincerely thank you in advance for your understanding and hope that you take this petition into consideration.

Please re-open SmartFit Kids Academy immediately, even if under a provisional license. The immediate closure of the program just 3 weeks into the school year is causing confusion for our children and hardship on working families. The program is well run and beloved by the children and parents.
Please reopen SFK. It was cost effective and emphasized physical activity for children before and after school. Choosing them 3 weeks into the school year left families desperate to find child care and forced to make quick decisions instead of quality decisions for our children. That is not in anyone's best interest!
Let SmartFit operate again! It’s ridiculous that they had to close down while obtaining a new license while others were allowed to continue to operate. I am one of many parents who now have to find aftercare so I can continue to work and support my family.
My daughter is very shy. This program has given her the chance to open up to many new people. She has made new friends at Smart Fit, and now, other places we associate with in our personal lives. Also, the Taekwondo program has given her discipline and the courage to take on many new things. Smart Fit needs to be up and running right away. It has touched the lives of not only the children who attend, but their families as well. Thank you Smart Fit!
Great after school program that engages my son not only mentally with homework and Spanish but physically with taekwondo.
Please expedite your approval process for Smart Fit's application. This is such an incredibly unnecessary roadblock for a small business like this to encounter in this great County. Thank you.

I see no logical reason why government officials should delay Smart Fit from re-opening. They are well run and professional. Government should work toward the best solution for citizens. Grant provisional authority to reopen would be in the best interest of our communiry.
