Petition for reopening of Smart Fit Kids

Please expedite your approval process for Smart Fit's application. This is such an incredibly unnecessary roadblock for a small business like this to encounter in this great County. Thank you.

Smart Fit Kids Academy provides a much needed service to the families of this community - They are caring and kind. Please bring them back!

My son really enjoyed Smart Fit Kids Camp this year and really wants to go back next year. Please allow the children to be able to go back to this before and after school program.

Excellent program for my kids. They have been with SFKA for the last few years and they absolutely loved the program. SFKA has been providing a safe, healthy, educational, and enriching before and after school program for my kids. There are no other programs such as SFKA in Severna Park community!! My kids and I loved SFKA and hoping that they will be back in business and have everyone back to the normal routine. SFKA make a huge difference in our lives!!! Thank you SFKA!!!! We missed you!!!!

If you look at the label of "before and after school programming" on paper; Smart Fit seems just like any other program in Severna Park. Yes, it is a place where parents can drop off and pick up their kids, depend upon timely transportation to and from school, know they will get their homework finished, and do some physical activities. From the outside we seem typical, just a program providing parents with a service...but we are so much more than that. When families drop off and pick up their kids, they are greeted by staff members who know them and know their children. They are asked about trips they just took, how their families are doing, and how their day has been. They know that we know their kids and see how well we interact and play with their children. Our staff is made up of of a mix of teachers, coaches, parents who come from many different areas just to work for this company and provide children with a safe, caring, encouraging environment in which to grow. Some are new and many have been returning year after year. We pick children up from school and engage them in the vans. We know each child by name and ask them about their day- showing that we care and can get a read on how they are doing each day. When kids arrive here from school, parents know that we teach them patience and how to focus on their studies. Our teachers offer homework help and make sure to check each child's work. If they are having a particularly difficult time, we will sit down with them and guide them to make sure they feel comfortable finishing it on their own. After work is finished, kids play outside in a well supervised area and take turns taking different levels of Tae Kwon Do classes with an incredibly dedicated and caring teacher. His program is uniquely unmatched by any in the area. He not only puts his heart into providing kids with the training of skills, but also imparts them with life skills and lessons in morality. My daughter is 9 years old, this is her first year at Smart Fit Kids. She cried on the Friday of the closing for the loss of her SFKA family. The program offers a loving environment for our kids to thrive. Please help expedite the reopening of this center as many children are struggling without this nurturing enriched after school program where they are loved.I noted the goal is 1000 signatures there aren't even a fraction of that many families served by SFKA.

My child has loved SmartFit Kids Academy from the moment she started last year. The staff is caring and excellent.

Program like this is very important stepping stone to children's future success and I think that smart fit staff showed their compassion to all kids.

Please allow Smart Fit Kids to continue to operate while simultaneously completing the child care certification. It's in the best interest of our children.

Being a parent is a beautiful yet challenging feat... Although one of the major aspects,child care, is daunting. I had complete confidence and feeling of security knowing my daughter was being cared for by Bixia and her amazing staff. Ella always came home telling me how much "fun"'she had at Smart Fit. Please consider a rush on resolving current issues...it would clearly benefit many peoples lives.

Ms. Bixia has a created a great before and after school program with Smart Fit Kids. My kids were happy there and that itself says a lot. They should be permitted to get back to work ASAP.

My girls have been a part of the SFKA family going on 4 years. They found the support, love, and friendship I was looking for in a Before/After Care program with Bixia and her staff. The homework assistance and Taekwondo offered a routine and stability for them that we miss dearly. The girls are unable to see their friends that have become family and are constantly asking when SFKA will reopen. Please allow SFKA to reopen and continue while the licenses are being processed. This would be a great help to all of us. Thank you.

Smart Fit Kids, including Bixia, the martial arts instructor, and the entire staff, was overall the most enriching program available for children in the Severna Park community. Please consider allowing them to continue their good work for both the children and the community, including by giving them a provisional license to operate until this matter is resolved. It is noteworthy that their program has been very professionally and responsibly run, fully staffed with responsive, caring and trained members. The martial arts instructor is the best children's instructor I have ever seen, teaching the children life lessons as well. Overall, there is simply nothing even close in the area that could offer the excellence of what Smart Fit Kids was able to accomplish in that rare combination of martial arts, homework assistance, socialization, and physical activity. It is truly a shame that more programs have not aspired to do what Smart Fit Kids seems to have perfected.

Please allow Smartfits Kids Academy to re-open their doors. My kids spent the entire summer there and enjoyed every minute. They look forward to seeing Bixia and staff every day before school. I’ve never met someone so committed to our children. Thank you.
