The board of education of Guilford, CT, upon receipt of this written petition, shall hold a public hearing on parental rights regarding their child’s gender identity. Such hearing shall be held no later than three weeks after receipt.

The increase in support has moved this issue into the active category for the board. I am currently finalizing the formal request for a public hearing to ensure our procedural requirements are met.

Parental rights are critical in any and every matter that effects the health, well being, and education of our children. There needs to be a heightened awareness among parents as to which policies and procedures are followed in our public school system and if those policies usurp their rights as parents. A hearing that encourages the Superintendent, BOE, and Guilford school staff to be transparent about how child gender identity and gender dysphoria is addressed in the public school system will help parents and citizens decide for themselves if these policies are reasonable, respect parents rights, and result in the best outcomes for the children in our community.

The Guilford BOE should stop overstepping it bounds . From what I’ve seen they should leave this teaching to the upper grades high school and only that of respecting all genders and races not pushing agendas of Extreme liberal views . They should also pass a resolution to allow religious expressions and exemption at the local level. Again in my limited following of the BOE in my town Guilford their needs to be changes stating with the superintendent
