HISD has violated the First Amendment of our United States Constitution by submitting to Greg Abbott's cowardly SB12, which restricts instruction on sexual orientation/gender identity, bans diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) duties, prohibits social transitioning assistance in schools, and requires parental consent for certain health services and clubs

Not only has my school's GSA club been disbanded, but all of my openly queer teachers and staff have been fired. HISD intentionally refused to teach about LGBTQ historical figures, despite the fact that they will willingly teach about racist extremists and slavers.

no matter how we identify and who we love we should be given the same freedom. this is cruel and inhumane and Mike Miles is causing irreparable damage to every member of the LGBTQIA+ community. we need to stick together and take a stand ❤️

Texas is already an unsafe place for anyone different. Make it safe for us to exist.

I don't know why people are so worried about attacking an innocent group of people's rights when they literally didn't do anything but exist. It's sad.
