Currently, only one in ten schools nationwide offer the opportunity to study this increasingly important subject. The result: over the next decade, one million jobs will go unfilled in the field, and at a time when so much is being invested in order to improve education, the study of such a field cannot be ignored.
We urge the Palm Beach County School District to hire and train more teachers in the field of Computer Science, offer classes to students throughout their schooling, and create an incentive to study the subject by allowing it to count towards graduation requirements.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that families throughout our county recognize how vital these digital skills have become for our children. My own child deserves the same opportunities as their peers in other districts and this progress shows we are finally demanding that change together.

My daughter is so interested in coding and it would be awesome if she could actually learn it at school. Hope this happens soon!
