As an HR professional I am shocked at the handling of this situation by the city. I support Mr. Chatman and his reinstatement fully.
I’m signing this petition because Mr. Chatman has been a key player in my life and has always given me good advice and looked out for me.
This gentleman was not even present when this happened. How can you hold him responsible for the actions of other people.
Tim Chatman has been upstanding,honest, good heart, willing to always help those that are need. I know because his life has been before me for over 30 years. Praying that Georgetown will not throw the rock and hide their hands.
As a native of Georgetown, SC I am appalled that Mr. Tim Chatman a staple of the community has been demoted due to the actions of his subordinates. Bad apples will be bad apples and no amount of leadership can instill honesty and integrity in a person. Mr. Chatman has served his community in many capacities over the years and has given to much of himself to receive this treatment.
Tim Chatman is a man of integrity. He deserves better.
I don’t understand why Mr. Chatman was demoted. Unfortunately, no leader can control every act of his or her subordinates. It appears that he was harshly punished for their acts. I believe he should have been given a fair opportunity to implement interventions to reduce the possibility of the repetition of the allege act as well as other criminal acts by his subordinates. Perhaps some sort of council should have taken place, but not firing from his director position. I strongly believe that Mr. Chatman should be reinstated as director unless there is some sort of reasonable justification for his demotion outside of his control. Thank you for your consideration! Have known and worked with Tim for over 30 years. He is honest, dedicated and committed to doing the job the right way. Based on what has been reported, Tim is being treated totally unfairly.
