This petition will be sent to the University of South Alabama’s Office of the President in an effort to get two more stop-signs installed at the intersection by Laidlaw’s South parking lot on USA South Drive. With an increasing number of students, it becomes harder each semester to successfully navigate the cross-section due to the high population of pedestrians and car traffic. It appears to create confusion for some drivers as to whom has the right of way, as well as makes it very difficult at times to get, said right of way. There is also a blind spot from the trees that creates dangerous situations when trying to pull out towards the South parking lot. The addition of a 4-way stop at this intersection would create a safer environment for all of South’s students, staff, and visitors.
