The golf course plans have finally been called off. I am honestly stunned by this result and I know it only happened because you all refused to look the other way. This win belongs to every person who lent their name to this cause.

Final supporters
We, the citizens of Kane County are opposed to any plan to build a destination golf course in Kane County at public expense.
We want our public money to be spent on projects that improve our communities, not this golf course.
We do not want our valuable water wasted on a golf course.
We do not want SITLA to lease our School Trust land to the Kane County Water Conservancy District for the purpose of building a golf course.
We do not want our Kane County or Kanab City governments to provide public money or resources to this wasteful project.
We want our Water Conservancy District to stop all spending on this unnecessary project. Our Water District must do the job of economically providing water related services for our communities. It is not their job to build a luxury golf course.
As a resident or property owner in Kane County, I am in full support of the above statements and ask that our state and local leaders take every action necessary to stop this golf course project.

I never imagined this many people would feel the same way about our water and our land. Seeing one hundred names on this list is entirely due to your willingness to speak up.

Don't see how this course can be financially viable. This isn't Phoenix, Palm Springs or even St. George. The weather here for half the year isn't conducive to playing golf. That means they'll have to have twice as many people golfing the other six months and charge more money, not less like they are suggesting.
Question who will work at this golf course? And where will they live?? Transportation? What's wrong with the golf course already in town? Do these high end golfers really want to look at the county jail and smell the county landfill?
The first thing I think about when I see a golfcourse isn't the massive waste of water, which alone is reason to oppose it, but the vile chemicals used to keep said course so perfect & pristine. Even when 'recycled', the amount that isn't evaporated that is, this toxic soup will still be there polluting the earth.
One golf course failure is enough. It was used to promote a housing development. This new golf course is just another 'loss leader' for the same purpose: To enrich the elite and then the golf course will fade into a tumbleweed patch.
I am against this golf course until an independent study is done to determine how much water Kane County actually has. Just because the water district owns water rights, does not mean the water is there, if this drought continues. Water is scarce and we need to conserve for necessities.
Why on earth would somebody come to Kanab for golfing. People come to admire the landscape. Kanab has a golf course already. What a waste of water in the drought we have !
The is a really nice golf course in Kanab already. And the drought we are in makes it irresponsible !
