Doug Ford and the PC party have made a poorly thought out promise to scrap the current sex ed curriculum in Ontario schools. This curriculum was developed by experts and involved 4000 parents before it was adopted by the Ministry of Education. This curriculum is important as it teaches children the tools they need to be safe in this era of the internet. It also teaches them to be accepting of people no matter their sexuality. There is nothing obscene in this curriculum.
Doug Ford is pandering to a small but vocal group of religious, right-wing, lobbyists who would have the people of Ontario living back in the 50s. Help us deliver a message to the PCs that their decision is the wrong one and the curriculum should stay the way it is now.

I really thought this might just float around in the void for a while but seeing all these people show up is honestly kind of overwhelming in the best way. It feels like every time I refresh the page there is more energy behind this and it gives me a lot of hope that we might actually be able to get through to the decision makers.

Thanks for doing this, Dianne. As a teacher, it is important to see that we have support to teach this important information.
Let’s keep moving forward in honest conversations. The “good old days” weren’t that great for a lot of people. We can’t protect our kids by hiding the truth from them or making them believe people have different values. Teach them about the world so they are prepared to live in it.
Grow up Dougie Trump! Knowledge will help them protect themselves. Should not be solely the parent's responsibility, some parents just won't tell their kids the facts.

Education is better than ignorance, and the education should be based on sound scientific data not just what we did in the past.
