The pedestrian crossing was originally installed at Narmara St. and Highbury Road to service the school children from Narmara Primary school. This school was closed down in the 1980’s and subsequently sold as residential area. In recent years the development of Sienna Falls (residential area) commenced and is now near to completion. This area includes public access to a playground, walking track, lake and direct access to Tally-Ho sports complex grounds. Traffic lights and a crossing at this intersection would be very beneficial for all residents on both sides of Highbury Road to access these public areas safety and improve the accessibility to Tally-Ho sports grounds, playground and lake.

We, the undersigned, are local residents who are requesting local council to install new traffic lights/crossing at the intersection of Highbury Rd and Alluvium Way to provide a safe and accessible pathway to all public areas including the playground, walking track, lake and Tally-Ho Sports complex. As Highbury Rd is the council border for both City of Whitehorse and City of Monash, this petition is signed by both residents from both councils and the submission has been sent to both council departments.
