When my children were in year 6 and asked to walk home like their friends at school, it was crossing this road that stopped me from allowing them to do so. Cars travel at speed as the road is long and straight and a place to cross which is clear of parked cars is required for the safety of children and people visiting the health centre and chemist as it is a very busy pedestrian junction that is only going to get busier and some preventative safety measure should be taken before it is required due to an incident.

A Crossing would be hugely beneficial for a huge amount of people. Not only the young children at local nurseries and schools, but also families and those more elderly residing in the area. They will also help to slow traffic down on the road which currently causes great risk to pedestrians and other road users on this road.
