I'm writing to suggest the implementation of pedestrian crossing between Coles and 138 Robina Town Centre Dr, Robina QLD 4226.

As can be seen from the map below it is very inconvenient for a pedestrian to use the existing pedestrian crossings. As a result, everyone is using a path that requires crossing the street close to the roundabout. Many people cross this street four times or more every day.

This is sometimes dangerous as it is hard to foresee which exit cars take at the roundabout.

This building on the other side of the road hosts alone more than 150 people who regularly cross the street by the roundabout to access parking, Coles and the many food courts in the shopping center. More people of course park across the road to access the various businesses on this side of the street, including BOQ and Australian Hearing. Thus this change would help elderly people too.

It would be simple to implement some official crossing, as the refuge island is already there, as shown in the links below.

Current path using pedestrian crossing (8 mins):

Proposed new pedestrian crossing location:

Thank you very much for your attention.

Have a nice day.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people agree that this crossing is a necessity. It is clear that this is a problem we all face together and I am just humbled to be a part of such a push for safety.

Hi, Please seriously consider this proposal in the name of safety. I often see people taking chances to cross this section of road from vicinity of 138 Robina Town Centre Drive. Long waits are involved. It's even worse trying to cross to the 7/11 service station and adjacent shops. The proposed crossing would bridge access to both Robina Town Centre (and the new and very popular The Kitchens), and to another existing crossing between Robina Town Centre and the 7/11 service station etc. Thanks Gary

Required. Access point seems to have been overlooked. Such a high traffic and dangerous black spot. Just a matter of time until a fatality.

A crossing is needed here, there is no argument and drivers fail to use their indicators and so pedestrians have close calls on a regular basis.

There must be a safer ways to cross the road, elderly and children cannot cross the road safely at the moment.

When you works in one of the office buildings mentioned, it is very difficult and dangerous to access the Town Centre's Kitchens or Coles. A crossing here will avoid accidents.

I used this road every day and chance with my life racing across the street. This makes access to The Kitchens scary.

A necessity for sure! Crossing the road here is risky and dangerous for pedestrians at the best of times
