The city council officially rejected the permit request and chose to keep our neighborhood safe for our children. I am overwhelmed with relief knowing our parks and schools will remain protected from this facility. Thank you for staying by my side until we got the right outcome.

Peachtree Corners - No Crematory in a Residential, Parks, and Schools Area

Dear Mayor Mason and City Council Members,
I am a voting citizen/concerned member of the public, and this is an issue that affects the entire city of Peachtree Corners and neighboring area. Do not approve this request, which would place an incinerator in the immediate area of homes, parks, and schools.
Please honor the wishes of your constituents and protect our property values and community.
The Crowell Brothers request for a Special Use Permit to add a crematory should be denied.

Seeing 250 names on this list gives me real hope that we can keep our neighborhood safe for the kids who play in these parks. I never imagined so many neighbors would rally to stop this incinerator from going up right next to our homes.

Aaron G - thanks for your support. The mayor and city council haven't voted yet. It was the planning commission that voted in support, and they had incomplete information to consider. This is a hot issue all over the country, and proposals have been both approved and denied all over. New research is surfacing that supports dangers of mercury emissions in such close proximity to homes, but the research has been hard to find! We have become very educated in our quest for answers, and have spoken to the EPA, EPD and other relevant organizations. We continue to share this relevant research and hope that our Mayor and council will deny this vote. Stay positive. See you Tuesday!
Why would anyone think this is okay? We have kids playing at the park right there. This is just wrong.
So frustrated with the council right now. They need to listen to the people who actually live here.
DENY THE PERMIT. KEEP OUR AIR CLEAN.
This is way too close to my house. Nobody wants to smell that while sitting out back on a nice weekend.

This MAYOR should be fired. The council members need to step aside and resign. They ask for a new city (which barely passes) and then they allow this dirty air into our homes and schools? NO OTHER CITY in the US has dead bodies burning so close to homes and schools...
