The Georgia Peach Pass toll lane project was announced by former Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue in Nov. 2008. Allegedly this project was funded with hundreds of millions of dollars of combined tax payer & private dollars . Since going live on October 1st, 2011 Georgian's have seen a significant increase in their commute time and the cost to use the Peach Pass HOT Lane is not economically feasible for most, especially in this struggling economy.  The cost to use the new HOT lane is upwards of $5/per day/each way to travel the 15.5 mile stretch through Gwinnett & Dekalb Counties. This 15.5 mile stretch of the I-85 corridor of the Peach Pass Project is the D.O.T.'s PILOT project! It's expected that within the next few decades that this will spread throughout the State of Georgia.  We've got to do something about this and stop this from happening.

We as a community and citizens need to petition the United States D.O.T. to review and revise their Peach Pass HOT Lane Plan. It's inefficient and there are other sufficient ways to manage traffic flow and increase revenue for new projects. We at least deserve the right to be able vote on this issue.  We deserve the right to travel on the highways without being financially extorted by our government.  We urge you to sign this petition TODAY, this needs to STOP!
