GA 316 needs to become a limited access highway with no toll booths!
Revered Larry Townsend recently became one of many Georgia citizens to lose their life on this extremely dangerous and busy road that has needed to be fixed for a very long time.
Please sign this petition letting the politicians of Georgia know that NOW IS THE TIME to protect the citizens who have put our trust in them to make sure our families can drive on the state's public roads safely and without fear of becoming the next victim of neglect by the Department of Transportation.
GA 316, which connects Athens and The University of Georgiato Atlanta is one of the most important and busiest roads in our state. College kids, professors, military personel, elderly people and a tremendous amount of other ordinary citizens travel this road every single day along witha lot ofvisitors from all over the world. All of these people deserve to be protected with safe roads.

WAY too many accidents here. Make it a real highway already so we can actually get to Atlanta safely.
I commute to Athens every day and I am honestly terrified of those intersections. It needs to be fixed before more people die.
FIX IT. 316 has been dangerous since the 90s. Quit dragging your feet.
NO TOLLS. We already pay gas tax. Just fix the road already.
This road is a death trap. My brother drives it for work and I worry every single day.
It's way past due to fix this nightmare y'all created!

The traffic on 316 is a joke. Almost got hit 3 times just this month. Do your jobs!
