Petition to Remove All Medians Restricting Access To / From Mannings Ridge
The GA DOT and City of Alpharetta are proposing a traffic island / median which will not allow left turns into and out of the Mannings Ridge neighborhood once completed. The removal of the center lane for merging access into the south bound lanes creates an undue safety hazard for those exiting the neighborhood and the right turn only requirement restricts the choice of businesses which our neighbors can patronize by requiring them to turn away from the businesses along SR Highway 9 south of our neighborhood including Publix, Wills Park, Pure and other frequently used services such as vehicle maintenance, dry cleaners, and pharmacies.
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to remove all medians restricting access to Pine Grove Drive from SR Highway 9.

If we are not allowed to turn left out of Mannings Ridge onto Hwy 9 this will present a huge traffic problem and safety concern. It will for everyone from the neighborhood to do a U-turn in order to travel south. 90% of the time I travel south out of the neighborhood.
If there is a median put outside of our subdivision, we will never be able to frequent downtown again and support the very businesses that we helped bring here. The arguments for safety make no sense to me as first response vehicles will have to go and turn around to get to areas that are readily accessible as is. Thank you. John Friske
If left turns are prohibited for entering and exiting the neighborhoods and businesses along this road, please consider what alternatives that residents will be forced to enact as a result. With the road already so narrow, having an increased number of people attempting to turn around or perform U-turns does not seem safe, but what else are people supposed to do, to get into their own homes?
I oppose any median being placed beyond Mayfield Rd going north on Route 9. This is a huge imposition on a neighborhood that has been here for 30+ years. It makes a left hand turn out of the neighborhood dangerous, if not downright impossible, not to mention the possible impact on our home values. Thanks
My child (16) and I turn left out of our neighborhood to travel to our jobs and to school as well. Please do not permit this median past Mayfield Rd.
