We believe that the hours from 3-6 is a time where our staff deserve to be appreciated. The pay the technicians receive both motivate staff to give quality therapy at the end of a long day and show the staff that they are cared about and appreciated for their efforts. This small way we show the staff we appreciate them really makes a huge change in their work moral. When the staff are shown they are valued it pours over into the kids and the quality of therapy reaps the benefits.

When Caravel took over originally they grandfathered these centers into the differential pay. That means when Caravel took over Connections they made a promise to keep it for these centers because it was something that worked for these centers to keep staff working later hours. However, that promise is now being taken away. The people willing to stay late for the after school kids deserve to be appreciated everywhere, however specifically at the Kimberly, Appleton, and Brillion locations.

I typically don't work that late anymore but it's about more than just me. Its about the part time employees who can't work full time due to college or needing to be there for their own children. It's not about bringing in new staff, it's about rewarding the loyal, reliable staff that are willing to work those later hours. It is incentive for people to work later when there's a staff shortage. It let's us know that we are truly appreciated by the company.

This is most definitely something that I and everyone else who works these hours relies on. Especially since our regular yearly raises and all other forms of raises were taken away from us due to the company having to purchase PPE products.

Sacrificing time with my husband and daughter after they are out of school and work is a hard decision for me therefore the extra pay is very much appreciated and deserved. Especially in hard times such as these.

I am very disappointed that this is being taken away from us! It effects me personally because I have a family to feed even though I normally only work tell 3:30pm Monday-Friday as a full time staff member due to my autistic/special needs children’s schedule! That extra pay for the 30 mins I work each day adds up and helps me pay for my children’s needs! As a parent with special needs the costs go up as is and my family already is having a hard time financially without this being taken away! I took this job because I wanted to change the lives of children like my own! I saw what ABA therapy has done personally for both of my sons and as a parent of children with autism I give most credit to Technicians who come into work each day and teach children literally miracles! We have taught children how to do things doctors have said they would never do! My oldest son couldn’t go to school cause of his behaviors! He now is able to go to school full time with very minimal behaviors to none! Technicians made this happen along with senior staff! Technicians are the ones who work with clients each day we are the ones that make this happen! Your taking some of our pay away even though we are the miracle workers! In my eyes this isn’t right or fair! If anything we should be paid more!

I have not worked these hours for the past few months due to school. I have opened my availability back up coming in January. I am saddened to see this happen. I am also privileged to not have as many expenses as my other coworkers do and think about the impact on them.

I appreciate how flexible my job is when it comes to college schedules. Many of our employees work part time and are students. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult for these employees to earn a living wage as their hours are limited. Differential pay has not only provided me motivation, but has provided me the option to work part time while going to school full time.

People who do this job come to work every day with intentions to love, care for, and teach children. They are giving children the chance to learn skills they might not haven been given the chance to learn somewhere else. They receive love and care they might not get in other parts of their life. They deserve as much as we can possibly give them.
