We believe that the hours from 3-6 is a time where our staff deserve to be appreciated. The pay the technicians receive both motivate staff to give quality therapy at the end of a long day and show the staff that they are cared about and appreciated for their efforts. This small way we show the staff we appreciate them really makes a huge change in their work moral. When the staff are shown they are valued it pours over into the kids and the quality of therapy reaps the benefits.
When Caravel took over originally they grandfathered these centers into the differential pay. That means when Caravel took over Connections they made a promise to keep it for these centers because it was something that worked for these centers to keep staff working later hours. However, that promise is now being taken away. The people willing to stay late for the after school kids deserve to be appreciated everywhere, however specifically at the Kimberly, Appleton, and Brillion locations.
I typically don't work that late anymore but it's about more than just me. Its about the part time employees who can't work full time due to college or needing to be there for their own children. It's not about bringing in new staff, it's about rewarding the loyal, reliable staff that are willing to work those later hours. It is incentive for people to work later when there's a staff shortage. It let's us know that we are truly appreciated by the company.
