The solution to our staff shortage crisis is clear: our team members deserve wages that reflect their true value in our organization. We call for immediate and substantial increases in ancillary staff pay to match the standard in our community and to meet urgency of our current situation. Priority should be given to addressing the disparity in MA reimbursement, which has led to the resignation of dozens of our MA colleagues over the last several months.

Let’s demonstrate that our organization can productively serve our community without resorting to exploitative wages. Let’s center equity, not only in our patient care, but also in our daily operations.

I really thought this might just be a small thing that stayed in my head but seeing all this energy behind us is wild. It is genuinely strange to see so many people feeling exactly the same frustration I had when I first started typing this out.

I think that a pay increase for MAs, and all the support staff is long overdue. MA turnover has been a problem at VG for the past 10 years. Now is the time to address it. Increasing pay will decrease employee turnover, which will improve quality of care for our patients and quality of life for the staff. I wholeheartedly support this petition.

All of our support staff work incredibly hard and are the backbone that allow providers to do the essential work that we do with patients. Our staff are dedicated and passionate about the mission, but most cannot continue to justify thousands of dollars of lost earning potential for love of our patients. I fully support an immediate increase in base wages to more accurately reflect the economic realities of living in this region at this time. As an organization we must be competitive socially by offering excellent working conditions but we also must offer competitive compensation to attract and retain the best talent.

Please increase the wages to MAs and PCC support staff at our clinics; they work incredibly hard and they are not compensated appropriately. They help keep our clinics functioning properly and allow the mission of VG to continue. Clearly our providers agree that we need to not just recognize our staff, but also grant them equitable pay and we need to act Now.

I support this! It is the only way we are going to retain staff and actually get new applicants. School base clinics are down to 2 support staff, that's it! Years of having open positions and zero applicants.

We are in crisis and without support we are going. to spiral into nothing. Our organization is bleeding out and the bandages being placed on our staffing wound is like a bandaid for a bullet hole. We do not want a free lunch we do not want to "just be resilient." The degree of resilience we are displaying is not sustainable. If providers are having to do the work of ancillary staff to see patients, VGMHC is wasting Money. I am an expensive PCC. We are having to do more work in our off hours. The staff we Mohave is tired. and my biggest concern is that we are going to start making serious mistakes and patients are going to suffer. We are not going to get quality staff without equitable financial compensation.

1000% agree with Lisa's comment - if we don't get closer to the prevailing wage for MAs and RNs in our region, we will be in this situation for all time. I've lost an MA over an offer of an extra $1/hr at an outside clinic, when she didn't even want to leave VG, but had to in order to do better for her family. This has been an issue for years, even prior to the current staffing crunch. VG needs to change this!

Our MAs and other ancillary staff need VG to demonstrate its support for their work
