We, the undersigned, as residents/taxpayers of the Incorporated Village of Lindenhurst, do hereby request that the Village Board of Trustees pass a resolution to approve the following:
Residents/taxpayers of the Village of Lindenhurst are eligible to apply for a no-cost resident parking permit for each of their vehicles. This permit would allow free parking at all times in any of the metered spots, except for spots in the LIRR parking lots OR any designated employee parking spots.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that my frustration with the parking situation is shared by so many of you. It is exhausting to keep pushing when the board stays quiet but your response proves this fight is worth the effort.

I wouldn't need to sign a petition had I been asked my thoughts prior to the removal of the old meters. Yes, I can walk, and I can figure out the technology, but our elderly & special needs residents cannot. It is not fair to cater to one group of residents who frequent the bars and restaurants while ignoring the needs of the rest. I personally do not need a pass. I simply won't go on Wellwood anymore. If I need to, I can walk, but there should be passes for those over a certain age or who have limitations. And the option to buy a P.O.P (pay one price pass) for the rest of village residents.
77 years old if not for every one at least for people over 65 or perhaps for handicapped
There should be some perks living in the Village and paying village taxes. I also believe this would benefit the businesses in the Village.
I have avoided shopping in the village as not to deal with inconvenience of new parking rules. I am sure merchants will be feeling it as I am sure I am not alone
Village Residents should be excluded from paying for parking! Most incorporated Villages issue stickers to residents, like the ones that are issues for the marina, just include those as parking stickers. Only residents!
Village residents pay more then all of Lindy. Would be nice to have a pass reflect that!
We pay enough in taxes! Stop ripping us off at every turn.

I would even pay a small yearly fee fee for a parking pass. The meters are very annoying since most of my stops in town are in and out ie ATM, pick up pizza, pick up my kid from work.
