Beginning September 2025, the Manhasset Park District has decided that they will ticket ($85) any student seen parking in the MPD's lot and then walking toward the high school, despite having a resident parking sticker and paying the daily parking fee. Keep in mind that NON-residents have thirty spots reserved for them. Please sign this petition if you are supportive of residents parking in the Manhasset Park District lots despite where the driver may be headed, especially in cases where a student might be parking the car FOR their parent commuter. If residents are allowed two parking stickers, we should be entitled to park in the lot if paying the daily rate.

We already pay enough between the sticker and daily fee. If a student is using the car for a parent commuter, that should be fine. Ticketing them is just wrong.
So residents pay the daily fee and still get hit with an $85 ticket? Come on. The whole point of the lot is for residents, not just whoever they decide looks okay that day.
My daughter parks the car for me and then heads to class, and now we have to worry about tickets for that? It’s a resident lot. Let people use it if they paid.
I dont get why this became an issue now. Residents should be able to park there if they have the sticker and are paying the rate, simple as that.
This is just unfair. Non-residents get spots reserved but residents are getting punished for parking in their own district. Makes no sense at all.
