PANTS (Potton Against New Traveller Sites) are not against the integration of individuals or groups into our communities. However, we are against the development of new Traveller sites that will affect Potton and the immediate surrounding areas of Sutton, Biggleswade, Dunton, Wrestlingworth and Sandy. We value our already integrated community. But enough is enough!
Of the 31 Wards making up Central Beds, Potton, Sandy and Biggleswade South account for 15 of the 35 proposed sites. Only 3 of the 8 Councillors that reside on the planning committee have proposed sites in their Wards!
We believe that the proposals are disproportionately weighted against Potton and its neighbours. We believe that our local infrastructure will struggle further to supply the needs of its residents. We believe that future wellbeing of our community will be adversely affected. We believe that there has been a fundamental lack of respect, regard and moral consideration afforded to Potton and its neighbours.
We would greatly appreciate your signature as a sign of support against these proposals.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have joined this cause. We are getting quite near five hundred signatures and that specific number will really show the council that we are not going away. Please keep the momentum going because this result is entirely due to your efforts.

I honestly never expected that one hundred people would feel strongly enough to sign this. This is down to all of you who looked at the maps and decided our community deserved better.

We already have enough stolen bikes littering the entrance and surrounding roads of the travellers site!
Whilst i support housing the needy, it needs to be proportionate across all wards, which the current plans don't appear to be.
This article is enough reason to say no http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-22554252 to a gypsy expansion.
Potton is already at breaking point with the schools and doctors. This plan is just ridiculous and totally ignores the local people who actually pay rates here.
Enough is enough. Why does it all have to be dumped on our doorstep while the councillors keep their own areas clear? It is just not fair on us.

No thanks! Crime, stolen items (cars/bikes), unruly children and constant burning of noxious rubbish.
