Taking away students' phones can actually hurt their learning. Phones are tools – they can be used for quick research, accessing educational apps, and even collaborating with classmates. When schools ban them, they're blocking access to resources that could help students learn more effectively.

Also, phones are a vital link to safety and security. Students use them to communicate with family, especially during emergencies or unexpected situations. Knowing they can reach out for help or get updates from home provides reassurance and can be crucial for their well-being.

Finally, learning to manage distractions is a key life skill. Instead of simply removing phones, schools could teach students how to use them responsibly. This approach prepares them for the real world, where they'll need to balance technology with their responsibilities.

This whole idea is completely unacceptable. First amendment like hello? Anyways! Phones should be allowed in school.

Our phones, our responsibility. If you’re choosing to be on your phone and not do your work, that’s your fault. But it’s unfair to other students who are participating in class, and make responsible choices with their phones.

I do not agree with the contents of this bill as it can and will limit our ability to portray free speech as we will not be able to distribute essential information across many people. It can also be a safety concern in times of emergency.
