
Reinstate Commander Regis Bryant


After serving over twenty years on the Department in various capacities, specifically serving as an acting or appointed Inspector for 8 years, Commander Regis Bryant was finally acknowledged for his extensive knowledge and effective leadership qualities when promoted to oversee the Seventh District. During that time, officer morale improved, community relations strengthened and internal and external trust flourished. His leadership resulted in a Crime Reduction Award for the Seventh District in March 2018. Less than 3 months later, Our Commander, Our Leader, Regis Bryant was not transferred, not promoted, but demoted. It was stated that "Bryant's demotion would be temporary only if they could show support from the community for such an action [request to have Commander Bryant reinstated to the Seventh District].
