I have been spending my evenings reading through your stories about the North River area and they are truly humbling to see. It is clear that this community cares deeply about how our neighborhood changes and I am honored to be part of this effort with you.

Heavy traffic is already a problem at Latta and Guess Rd. Trying to get on to Roxboro Rd from Latta is rediculous with the long stop light there, also. This is such a congested area, surely there is a better location to put a multi-use area.
There are already empty buildings at the Willowdaile shopping center, which is only about .5 mile from this projected site. This is an absolutely ridiculous proposal. We can't even fill the store frontage we already have available.
Once we allow this corner to be rezoned, then other corners north of us will follow soon after. The development will also likely cause more stormwater run off to creeks that feed into the Eno, which would impact water quality in the Eno, where we fish and swim.
What is the purpose of having a general zoning plan if it is changed every time a developer wants to make money? There is no need for another grocery store here! This is zoned residential. Please keep it that way.
This is wrong for Northern Durham. We have 3 strip malls within 1.2 miles. They are not fully utilized to begin with. I am concerned about the environmental impact both re: traffic and also with the run off into the Eno River. It's all downhill from the proposed development. Thank you
Hello. This is a terrible area for an enormous shopping center and more housing. It is too close to an elementary school, too close to the Eno River, and the roads can't handle the additional traffic. We already have multiple grocery stores nearby (2 Food Lions, 2 Krogers, and a Harris Teeter) and we don't need anymore. The people who live in North Durham love trees and nature (that's why we chose to live here!) and we want to leave it undisturbed. Find a new location for this proposed 30 acre monstrosity.
Please leave the zoning as is and encourage the developer to find another plot that is already zoned commercial.

There are so many other viable locations (lots) in Durham that house vacant buildings zoned for commercial use. Why disrupt a neighborhood that houses an ELEMENTARY school for another grocery store? Safety of our children BEFORE dollars... #norezoning
