Opposing the Planning Application for a Miss Millie's Fried Chicken on Heol y Deri in Rhiwbina Village
We, the undersigned strongly oppose the proposed opening of a Miss Millie’s Fried Chicken Shop in our quiet and peaceful village. While we support local businesses, we believe that this establishment would negatively impact our community for the following reasons
The introduction of a fast-food outlet is likely to attract an increase in traffic, leading to congestion on our narrow village roads. This will not only disrupt the tranquillity of our neighbourhood but also pose potential safety risks for pedestrians, particularly children and the elderly.
Extended operating hours typical of fast-food establishments could result in increased noise levels.
Such establishments tend to generate considerable waste, including litter and food packaging, which could negatively impact our village's cleanliness and environment.
Rhiwbina village is known for its unique charm and character, defined by small, locally-owned businesses that cater to the community's needs. The arrival of a fast-food chain could undermine this local character, paving the way for more chain establishments.
The anticipated increase in visitors to the fried chicken shop will likely exacerbate parking issues in the village. With limited parking spaces available, this could lead to illegal or obstructive parking.
Fast food outlets can sometimes attract antisocial behaviour, particularly during late hours. This could compromise the safety and security of our village, which residents currently enjoy.

Miss Millie's is waiting for us to get complacent so they can choke our village with traffic and trash. We are nearly at 250 signatures and we need to push past this milestone before they think we have gone quiet. Tell your neighbors to sign now instead of watching them ruin our streets.

The proposed food outlet would be totally out of character with Rhiwbina village. Antisocial behaviour is a distinct possibility, making what is a safe place to walk around at night much less so, no doubt rubbish would also become a problem. I urge the council to reject this planning application.
A fast food takeaway will make an already congested road even more dangerous and destroy the ambiance of the village as it is so close to a Cadw Grade II listed area in the Garden Village.
It is imperative that we prevent the intrusion of the American fast food sub-culture into our village. Having a Miss Millie's fast food outlet would be detrimental to the dynamic of independent traders in Rhiwbina.
Fast food chains have no place on anyhigh street. We are all trying to encourage our families to eat healthily - this will not help. Litter attracting vermin on the street will be a serious problem too. Cardiff - can't you see the problems this will cause to the residents of Rhiwbeina. We don't want it.
I strongly oppose this business coming to Rhiwbina village. The litter from other local eatery’s in the area get thrown wherever people finish eating it! Boxes of half eaten chicken and chips will be left on walls and pavements.
rhiwbina village already has five sit down food places for its small local population - plus a take away -another one would saturate the village high street -cr westing an i road if restaurants / cafes - it’s a high density family location which would be overloaded with yet more traffic creating more safety risks if another food outlet was approved - the premises should be retained for retail outlet not food outlet

There is not sufficient parking in the village and the inevitable influx of illegal electric bikes ridden by Deliveroo/Uber eats delivery folk would increase crime and traffic issues in our family friendly village.
