Opposing the Planning Application for a Miss Millie's Fried Chicken on Heol y Deri in Rhiwbina Village

rhiwbina village already has five sit down food places for its small local population - plus a take away -another one would saturate the village high street -cr westing an i road if restaurants / cafes - it’s a high density family location which would be overloaded with yet more traffic creating more safety risks if another food outlet was approved - the premises should be retained for retail outlet not food outlet

Very bad idea, we do not need a fast food chain in rhiwbina when there are plenty in birchgrove. The road is too narrow for extra cars plus no parking

They should go to Caerphilly Road instead where they would be a much better fit

Regarding the request for Miss Millie’s chicken takeaway to be sited in Rhiwbina, I think this would be a very detrimental move for the village. The small village of Rhiwbina is totally unsuitable for a takeaway of this kind. The extra traffic travelling through an already congested area, along with the lack of parking facilities even on an ordinary day in Rhiwbina, would cause unimaginable chaos. The danger to children and young families walking to and from the school with this increased volume of traffic and what could end up as careless car parking, could be catastrophic. This does not include the litter that will be inevitable with this kind of establishment, one only has to walk down City Road in Cardiff to see the results of these types of businesses on the local environment. Not to mention the rodent increase from food dropped in the road by people who only visit the area to purchase from this type of business. The other concern will be the safety of residents with groups of people gathering around this type of establishment, especially in the evenings, this could be intimidating to local residents, especially as there is a large elderly residential group, that currently feel safe of an evening visiting or walking around the village centre, this would change the dynamics dramatically. I sincerely hope the authorities that consider this application will also consider the needs and safety of the local residents of this small, quiet, beautiful village.

This would not be in keeping with the independent village businesses, it will create more waste and smell pollution.

This is a terrible idea bringing noise smell Parkin issues and possibly anti social behaviour to the village. It is totally out of keeping with the. aesthetic of the village.

There is not sufficient parking in the village and the inevitable influx of illegal electric bikes ridden by Deliveroo/Uber eats delivery folk would increase crime and traffic issues in our family friendly village.

There is clearly not enough parking for a takeaway restaurant

This chain will harm the unique culture that has become the attraction of this village, harming the other businesses. It is a gateway for litter and teenagers loitering in the village also.

Rhiwbina does not need a fast food outlet. It deserves quality independent businesses to maintain its individual character.

Better to have an independent business take over rather than allowing big takeaways to encroach upon a small village with all the litter likely to be scattered around

The proposed food outlet would be totally out of character with Rhiwbina village. Antisocial behaviour is a distinct possibility, making what is a safe place to walk around at night much less so, no doubt rubbish would also become a problem. I urge the council to reject this planning application.

Can I just say whoever has put this petition together has fed the village some fake news. Miss Millie’s was never even in contention to open a chicken shop in Rhiwbina. I mean are you all stupid. Who on earth would open a chicken shop in the whitest area of Cardiff. Some dialogue would be good but spreading fake news and hysteria is not acceptable.
