Oppose LES Junction 155 Rivington Street
The Petition of the following citizens of the State of New York residing in the City of New York in Community Board 3 oppose a new on-premise license on for LES Junction at 155 Rivington Street. There is no public benefit in continuing to license a problematic premises with an adverse NY SLA and NYPD history, and has been an on-going quality of life problem for residents living above, across, behind and nearby.
The area is already over-served with late-night bars, nightclubs, hotel lounges and restaurants. These numerous late-night drinking options have resulted in deleterious quality of life, unsafe living conditions, and traffic congestion and pollution for residents.
The proposal by LES Junction at 155 Rivington Street will not improve the already degraded conditions or relieve the traffic pressures from the Williamsburg Bridge. In fact, the LES Junction proposal calling for DJS, In-house promoted events, some events with cover charges, security guards, entertainment level music, 4AM closing, hot/cold small plates (bar food) will only escalate the current deleterious conditions and compromise public safety.
We the undersigned urge you to deny this license outright. If CB3 decides to approve, we demand that you protect this community by reducing hours to 12AM (Sun - Thurs) and 1 AM (Fri - Sat), restrict DJs, wait-lines, security personnel stationed outside, promoted events, cover charges, and entertainment level music.
