The City of Boston finally stopped dragging their feet and agreed to keep the Bubble open while they secure a new structure. We forced them to listen to the Charlestown community. Keep your eyes on the courts because we are making sure they actually follow through on this promise.

The City of Boston is taking the Bubble down early next week for structural issues. CHAD has been providing tennis to the youth in Charlestown for over 25 years. We need to fight to
1. Keep the Bubble open and
2. have the City of Boston purchase a new Bubble/Structure.

We hit 250 signatures and the City of Boston is still pretending this isn't a massive problem. They think they can just tear down our courts and move on without a fight. We are just getting started.

Resources like year-round tennis is a key factor that has made me continue to live in the city as I raise kids who participate in youth athletics. Please figure out a way to continue winter tennis in Charlestown!
I Have played in the bubble for many years as a kid and although it's dirty and ripped, it's part of the community and gives kids a chance to practice tennis and make life long friendships.
The Charlestown bubble helped change my daughter's direction in life. It must be rebuilt asap to ensure that kids have a safe, healthy outlet. It's far more than just a tennis center.
Please repair or build a new bubble! These maybe the only indoor courts downtown has and is used by so many - not just Charlestown folks, but North Enders, West Enders, Beacon Hillers, and Back Bayers. Please let us continue enjoying these special courts.
The tennis center is a critical fitness resource for this area. There are minimal indoor tennis facilities in the Boston area, and CHAD was one of the few with a significant amount of youth programs.
Tennis is a great sport and any way you can make it more accessible to the general public is important.

It saddens me to see something like this happen so abruptly, with a limited replacement plan. I have spent many years of my life learning, teaching and being challenged at the bubble. It's places like this that we need to exist in order to bring the city and its people together in a healthy, active and captivating way.
