We believe that for the well-being and health of our children and communities that playgrounds should be opened this summer- according to the CDC, coronavirus is NOT easily transmissible on surfaces, and children are not a high risk category for becoming infected with coronavirus. In addition it is incredibly important for children to be outside in the fresh air and sunshine as it strengthens the immune system. Social distancing at playgrounds would still be strongly encouraged and enforced by parents and caregivers.

I am currently drafting a formal letter to the parks department to request a review of the surface transmission protocols. Legal counsel is reviewing the CDC guidelines to ensure all arguments presented in the letter align with current health data.

Kids getting to play and socialize is essential for their motor skills and brain development.
Kids are playing on the parking places instead of playground in our apartment complex
Kids have almost 0% risk to get covid so they do not need to struggle with no chance to play!!! Kids mental health matter!!!
Playgrounds should be opened with rules like sanitizing the playground by park workers after and before. And also sanitizing pump stations near by.
Let the kids play. Those who are still concerned, are able to avoid them still.
