The state has officially approved the land acquisition for the equestrian center. I am incredibly drained after this long fight but we finally secured a future for this space. We have to keep our eyes on the planning process now that the site is ours.

Signing this on-line petition will show your support for the California Equestrian Park and Event Center (CEPEC) to acquire the land surrounding the main campus of the Sonoma Development Center (SDC) in the Sonoma Valley.
CEPEC is a 501(3)C and is thus a non-profit organization. It is an Olympic level equestrian complex in development for public use for: recreation, education, equestrian competition, veterinary services, historic and wildlife exhibits, and land preservation.
CEPEC was created in response to needs expressed by the equestrian community in Sonoma County, as well as several national and international equestrian organizations. It will provide the amenities of a public park, open space, and a wildlife corridor without being a financial
burden on the county or the state because CEPEC will fund and maintain the facility.
It is expected to generate an estimated $250 million annually for the county economy and 250 jobs when fully operational. It will be able to provide, in one location, services and facilities not available on the West Coast. More information is available at: www.cepec.us

We just hit one hundred signatures. It is a long haul to get this center off the ground and some days feel heavier than others but seeing this number helps keep me going.

A much needed center for the equine industry that combines world class facilities that have been sorely lacking and combining it with open space and a critical care vet medical center and education programs. Fantastic!
This Equestirian Park will help to diversify tourism to Sonoma county. It has the real potential to attract travelers not only from the U.S. but from abroad. This is a great opportunity for Sonoma county. I enthusiastically endorse it!
I grew up riding horses in Golden Gate Park, in San Francisco. We had more access to trails than we do in many other places in the Bay Area. We need more places to ride. Let's make this happen!!
Equestrians will flock to this proposed facility, not only bringing strong financial gains to the area but also giving new support and a healthy outlet to the unfocused youth in Sonoma County. We need this project to bring back the balance of beneficial land use vs mono agriculture.
CEPEC would help increase our existing equine industry from $600 million per year to $1 billion per hear. Which would create more jobs and increase tax revenue for the County.
It would be a wonderful use of the property.
California Equestrian Park and Event Center (CEPEC) would be a treasure to the Sonoma & Santa Rosa communities as well as the State of California. This is a golden opportunity to enrich the lives of Sonoma County residents. :)
