I believe that the Horse Park at Woodside is one of the most vital elements in San Mateo County because it highlights and promotes the unique, rural equestrian character of the area. The Horse Park at Woodside provides a beautiful and natural setting that offers opportunities for educational, recreational and competitive activities in many popular equestrian disciplines that encourage the growth and development of youth and adults. It furthermore is the home to Olympians and Olympic hopefuls alike. The Horse Park supports Pony Clubs and houses a vital equestrian rehabilitation program – BOK Ranch. It provides an important open space alternative to development, and meets the needs of thousands of people in San Mateo County. I strongly support the renewal and long term extension of the San Mateo County Use Permit for the Horse Park.
