By signing this petition, you support equestrian trails in Marion County, Indiana. The Equestrian trails for Marion County organization are respectfully asking for support for a multi-use trail to include horseback riders, cyclist and hikers throughout Marion County and connecting these trails to other parks and greenspaces.
One of the purposes of the Marion County Comprehensive plan is to put in place a systematic inventory, analysis and assessment of the park system that helps address unmet needs, now and into the future (p.14). The plan further states on (page 24) it is committed to programs, services, amenities and greenspace for all. Everyone deserves access to safe, well-maintained and welcoming parks, and green space.
Equestrian trails along with multi-use trails will fulfill the goals stated above. By including equestrian trails everyone will have access to parks and greenspace.

We need more areas to enjoy our horses. We work hard at keeping them and paying our taxes on our large properties and getting kicked out of our riding area's. We need more please.
I am a Therapeutic riding instructor and riding horses is so beneficial to the human body, not only physically but also emotionally. A lot of veterans use horses for their PSTD.
Horse Trails are needed in many areas in the state of Indiana. This is a large group of people with money to spend in the state. We opened the Allen County Equestrian Course in Allen County (Fort Wayne) in 2024. We are attracting riders from all over the central and northern area of the state as well as Ohio and Michigan. Having horse trails in our state capital would be a very nice asset to the state of Indiana.
This is so needed, especially in Perry Township. The Southwest quadrant is so perfect for the trails.
The areas I horse backed rode on, as a child in Glenns Valley, has been developed. I support horse trails in Marion County. Let's include horse trails with bike and hikers.
Equestrians need places to ride too! So many trails are 2 hours away.
i want to get into riding and learning more about this lifestyle. it has always been my dream to barrel race but i have no experience, so i would like to start with doing rides.

I drive to Indiana to ride my horses because your state actually has trails. Northern KY doesn't, so my money for trails, food, gas, and entertainment goes to your state. More trails=more money.
