Plans have been submitted to change the former Blair and Gray garage to a supermarket, with prime sales offered being alcohol.

This would impact hugely on what is already an area serviced by a Tesco supermarket, Scotmid and other local small traders.

Beansburn is primarily a residential area with some small businesses operating regular daytime business hours, this business would cause what is a quiet area in the evenings to become a magnet forunderage drinkers.

The area of Beansburn is a heavily congested area and the main artery route going in and outof Kilmarnock. The road offers poor sightlines for traffic to see coming out of junctions. The road is set to become even busier as the new ford bridge is due to open this month.

I really thought this might just disappear into the void but looking at how many people actually care about the safety of our streets is honestly wild to me. It is exhausting thinking about the traffic at that junction as it is because adding a supermarket there is just asking for trouble so seeing this kind of movement really makes me feel like we might actually have a fighting chance.

This is a completely unreasonable proposal. An already tricky junction very close by coupled with the children's nursery & soft play make this an unecessary hazard.

My children attend Dean Park Nursery where there is already an issue with parking and safe crossing for children. A mini market here would only exacerbate the problem and potentially lead to safety/security issues within the immediate area. There is no need for this type of business in an already congested and highly trafficked area.

East Ayrshire council only have to ask two questions. 1. Do we the residents of Beansburn need a super /mini or indeed any other shop in this already congested area. 2. Where will there staff park not to mention theire customers

A hugely unsafe proposal given the traffic/parking congestion that akready exists within proposes area and junction at knockinlaw road.

I am surprised there haven't been any serious accidents due to the parking, especially at weekends.
