NORTHAMPTON IS STAYING OPEN FOR BUSINESS BECAUSE WE OFFICIALLY WON THE FIGHT AGAINST THE EMRO!! I AM ABSOLUTELY THRILLED THAT OUR NIGHTLIFE IS SAFE AND PROTECTED. LET US ALL KEEP A CLOSE WATCH ON THE LICENSING BOARD TO ENSURE THINGS STAY EXACTLY THIS WAY!!
Early Morning Restriction Order
on the sale of alcohol at a yet to be specified
time of anything from MIDNIGHT onwards!
This could cause most clubs to close, decreasing the bar
trade and closing many pubs and bars too. Taxi firms,
fast food joints, and many more businesses will be
affected and jobs will be lost. This would damage the
Northampton economy and community.
A uniform closing time would risk disorder in the
streets, taxi ranks and elsewhere. It may also result
in disruptive house parties or illegal raves.
If you want your nightlife left as it is, then have your say and vote
NO TO EMRO
Bar work is the only kind of work readily available to students. If you cut the hours I can work with this proposal, I will have to leave uni.

Ridiculous idea. If everyone gets kicked out at the exact same time the town centre is just going to be a massive fight every single weekend.

Just another way to ruin local business. You want people to stay in and drink super market booze instead?
