We, the undersigned, request that the Monroe City Council NOT APPROVE the business plan soon to be submitted for a strip club, or "gentleman's club", in the Fryelands Boulevard Industrial district. Any such adult entertainment establishment in our community would provide a gateway for potential higher crime rates, lower property values, and unwanted interactions between patrons and entertainers such as public sexual conduct, sexual assault, and prostitution. In addition, a strip club would have a profound and negative impact on surrounding neighborhoods, churches, schools, businesses and Monroe residents. We are in favor of businesses that promote positive community values rather than those that taint it.
