I am against Mr. Ryan Wickens and the Terre Haute Board of Zoning Appeals approving the request made by Mr. Mike Bickers, an Illinois resident, to re-zone the property at 3295 North Fruitridge Avenue. This property should not be used as an adult business of any kind. Any time Mr. Bickers, and/or any other Ruth & Bick Inc. owner (four), go before the board, I request that each member of the board vote against this re-zoning request, or any request to have this property be used for anything other than noble causes. This adult business could be a strip club, juice bar, adult cabernet, adult book store, adult video store, adult night club, adult motion picture, or adult theater. Any of these options decimate loving relationships between husbands and wives, destroy families, and are derogatory towards women. Further, this property is one mile from Terre Haute North Vigo High School: It is unacceptable to have an adult business so close to a high school, as it will entice high school students on their way home from school and to and from extracurricular events. I request that the board deny any of Mr. Bickers requests for this property, and any other requests for an adult business in Terre Haute.

Reaching this level of support shows that our community sees the same threat to our neighborhood that I do. It has been a long and draining road but knowing this many people are behind me keeps me going.

Terre Haute better start thinking about the infrastructure of our town. Greed is not as important as protecting our families. The people who run and are in charge of this town must think before saying OK to building projects. There are plenty of empty buildings that people can tear down and remodel. It is not necessary to build this kind of “Industry” near one of our high schools or any high school for that matter.

This area is just now starting to grow with new businesses and this isn't the kind of business that large out of town businesses need to see in the new industrial park in the north end. It is also to close to schools and shopping areas.

This would not only be detrimental to the kids but pornography addiction destroys loving relationships of any age.

This is both scary and sad that a consideration is even being made to allow this in close proximity to a high school. It's bad enough to have one close to Benjamin Franklin Elementary

Pornography is one of the modern contributors to the unraveling of the nation's moral fabric. It can erode the relationship between husbands and wives, and it gives viewers/users a distorted vision of what sex is and should be. Additionally, it is dehumanizing to the actors involved (whether they know it or not) and far beneath the dignity of a human being. Moreover, its distorted view of sex has and continues to lead to various sexual dysfunctions in the lives of those who regularly consume this material. The research on this is substantial and growing. Please deny this request.

Establishments such as this corrupt and destroy marriages, families, and communities.
