Final supporters
The proposed site at 33-35 Lewisham Way (opposite Goldsmith's College) is only 500m from the existing Sainsburys superstore and petrol station shop. A third outlet will inevitably have a detrimental effect on local small businesses, leading to net job losses.
As there is no rear access, all deliveries will be made at the front of the store on Lewisham Way. These large trucks will cause traffic chaos at what is already a notorious bottleneck, adding to already high levels of pollution.
We want diversity in our town centre, not more chain stores.

The traffic is already a nightmare around there. Why would they put a delivery bay on the main road?? Madness.

Lewisham way is blocked enough as it is without lorries parked on the curb. No way this should be allowed.
