A zoning change has been initiated by Jack Falletta to rezone the remainder of Clairmont Park from single-family/garden home district (R2/5) to a patio home district (R6). These could be similar to (or smaller than) “The Cottages” that are in the process of being built just behind Lowe’s. These can be attached homes and can have lots as small as 40 feet.

This type of change would likely decrease our home values, dramatically increase traffic on Weaver Ave and within the neighborhood, and would potentially lead to a large number of renters that may not be invested in the upkeep of the property. In addition, another entrance would potentially be added to the neighborhood which could increase crime due to the ability to drive through. Much of the current wooded area would also be demolished to make space for these clustered homes which would certainly decrease privacy between homes.

We would all be interested in homes continuing to be built but ones that are similar in nature to the current homes.

Please join us in saying NO to this rezoning request. Let’s stand together and keep our neighborhood quiet and peaceful!

Updates

I met with a few neighbors today to review the site maps. The scale of this proposed build is much worse than we initially thought.

The momentum is shifting our way. People are finally waking up to the threat against Clairmont Park.

I do NOT want Leeds to allow this re-zoning. It not only hurts full size home evaluations but would create a worse traffic problem than we have now.

We do not want this proposed construction in our neighborhood. We have been on Laurent Drive almost 2 years and the traffic has increased on Weaver Avenue so much already. Not to mention the home values. Ours is a No to this extension.

I disagree with the proposed zoning changes. We have been led astray regarding a development to our front border and do not need even additional homes surrounding our neighborhood. The abundance of vehicles in the roads, both parked and moving, will cause a major safety issue for those of us who consistently play/walk/run/ride bikes/etc. in the neighborhood. Furthermore, Weaver Ave cannot sustain the additional traffic of the added homes. It’s condition is deteriorating by the day and the additional cars/construction equipment will only make it worse. I vote no. Thank you.

I am a 3-year resident of Clairmont Park. I am strongly opposed to the rezoning of Clairmont Park proposed by Jack Falletta. The proposed zoning change will increase the traffic flow through our subdivision and reduce the property values of our homes. I pray the Leeds zoning board/City Council will hear the residents voices of Clairmont Park and will deny the rezoning change.

The 4 way at Walmart can’t handle the traffic it has now and that’s not including the 62 rental homes that just were put up. I also didn’t buy a 280k house to have a patio home right next door to me.

Would rather see homes similar to the existing homes.

No Patio or Garden Homes in Clairmont Park. My email was sent also.
