The wind project has been officially cancelled and I am honestly stunned by this result. This outcome belongs entirely to all of you who spoke up to protect our home. Please keep a watchful eye on local meetings as we move forward.

As a citizen of Wayne County Indiana, I am in opposition to placement of industrial wind turbines (large wind energy conversion systems) in Wayne County. My opposition is due to negative health effects, visual pollution, reliance on government subsidies, negative impacts on homes values and the desirability/ quality of life in Wayne County, Indiana.

I truly never imagined that so many of you felt the same way about our community. This momentum is entirely because of the neighbors who decided to step up and speak out.

The negative consequences far outweigh the positive at this time. Technology changes rapidly and in 10 years these turbines will likely be nothing but eyesores. Land owners are being tempted with the promise of fortune but not even that is guaranteed. Please don't sell us out for a quick dollar that won't last.

These wouldn't even be considered if not for government subsidies. I live in the country for the peace and quiet and surely don't want to spend the rest of my days watching blinking lights at night and whirling blades and shadows during the daylight.

I have an issue with foreign country's coming in to get huge government subsidies to build these wind turbines. From reports I've read without the government subsidies to run these, they are not cost efficient. More big government is not the answer.

The impact of industrial turbines will negatively effect citizens and the future growth in our county. The desire to live here will be less. Allowing turbines will compromises a way of life that is hard to find. The progress of a nation should not be at the cost of a county.

We see the wind turbines in Randolph County and don't want the same to happen here in Wayne County. Visually they are disruptive to nature during the day and the red flashing light of a night is also annoying. The value of our properties is negatively affected as well.

I am seriously concerned about having wind turbines in wayne co. I live within 1/2 mile of randolph co and have to look at the ugly, disgusting turbines everyday. I just built a new home, they moved the turbines in and I wish I knew they were doing this. I would not have built. I own two businesses in wayne co. I will move my family and my businesses if I have wind turbines in my future. I really hoped the wayne co government was more pro residents than interested in projects with short term payback. The article in the newspaper was disgusting as it was all about two farmers that financially gained from the wind farms at the expense of the rest of the residents, not only from randolph co but those of us that live in the northern part of wayne co.. Progress? I think not.
