Schools, Doctor's Surgery and roads in and out of village are still the same as they were 32 years ago when we moved to the village. Building more houses has to stop! The current infrastructure cannot support the massive influx of residents and traffic which will follow.
East Calder / Mid Calder roads cannot cope with more traffic. A71 cannot cope now and will not with even more traffic. East Calder Medical Practice cannot handle more patients. What about the family of deer I see every morning. No more house should be built..
Major concerns surrounding this development including lack of infrastructure to support it, is the ground actually safe to build on seeingvas part of it has mining shafts underneath it , it also contravenes policy in relation to not joining villages together
Before we have any new houses let’s sort out schools, doctors surgery, roads. Can the sewage works even cope with these new proposed houses? Not even considering the loss of more green spaces, the buffer between East & Mid Calder and the upset to local wildlife.
We've not got the amenities to support this many houses in East Calder. There's already Calderwood, Seven Wells and Almondell in the area with no additional services so how can the area cope with another development of this size?
We are in danger of merging into one mass housing estate. We need to keep the village identity.......
This area is an important corridor for wildlife notably badgers. We simply do not have the infasrtructure for yet MOREhouses.

At the current rate of building there will be no greenbelt left. What provision is being made for the roads to be able to cope with extra traffic. A71 cannot cope already. Leave villages as villages. People move out here for the greenery and to get out of towns.
