"NO" to Mushroom Cultivation Operation Planned for our Neighborhood
David and Della Wallace have rented property address 12123 Elm Lane to a gentleman that is bringing in several cargo containers to create a compound to cultivate oyster mushrooms.
Mushroom cultivation has many impacts to the environment. After careful research it is documented by the USDA and EPA as well as other research entities that said operations can have pest control, odor, toxic waste including air and water issues. Even with improved methods of cultivation it is documented that odor and pests in area are unavoidable.
The property that the mushroom cultivation operation is to be housed has a traditional septic system. The property is also located less than 10 feet from residential houses and many more less than 50 to 100 feet. It is also located approximately 400 feet from Lake Lewisville which is Dallas' Water Supply. It could possibly impact Hackberry Elementary located less than 1000 feet from our neighborhood.
By signing this petition you are saying NO to allowing this mushroom cultivation operation in our neighborhood.
