The school board finally backed down and scrapped the uniform policy for good. These administrators thought they could force this financial burden on us forever but they were wrong. Keep your eyes open to ensure they do not try to sneak these ridiculous rules back into the handbook next year.

So here is a post dedicated to all the other parents who all feel the same with me an many others on the school uniform issue. This is not a to tear down our system but to voice my opinion on the matter. The Uniforms have got to go! So I get a call from the school telling me my kids pants are not uniform guideline or her shorts are to short, well I bought the clothes from the School Uniform section!!!! With our kids constantly growing it is hard to keep up when your child shoots from a 6 to a 12 over night! I would rather buy my children nice everyday clothes then to have to deal with the uniforms. Financially it is a burden , maybe not to everyone but it is to alot of people. It solves nothing because the same children who were bullied because they could not wear name brand clothes now get bullied because they wear handme downs that you can clearly tell are. And now they are allowed logos, well the whole name brand thing just went out the window. Granted im just 1 mother among many and in all surrounding counties and schools but I would much rather let my children wear regular clothes and carry clear or mesh bookbags like we had to just a couple of years ago then to still face the same issues with less freedom to express themselves as the person they want to be. Now with that being said.. I don't mean let your children dress inappropriate. WE CAN STILL HAVE A APPROPRIATE DRESS CODE WITH OUT UNIFORMS. As parents we should know the difference and if you do not then god bless you. I can tell you with these uniforms doesnt look like many parents know the difference especially in high school and middle school bc those Girls clothes are so tight you can see it all. The kids who have low self esteem about the way the look I can assure you the unflattering uniforms makes it worse for as well has the children who are on the chubby side. Shall I mention how some kids can wear certain not approved uniform dress and when others do they get sent to the office. I 100% hate these uniforms and wish we could do something about it as I have been told parents did not have a choice in the matter. I would like to actually have a parental vote on this! Sign this petition to help Get Rid Of School Uniforms! We can allow are children to dress comfortable and express them selves in a appropriate way with out the extra cost and burden it places on some families who struggle as it is to dress their children in sized right everyday clothing. We have more families in the poverty line then we do anything else in these small communities and for them to have to struggle even a little more to keep their daughters out of their older brothers used clothes and so on. Every child deserves a right to sparkle and dress to their personality with out being told even school approved is not good enough or because they have Walmart vs. Under Armor . Bullying is the real issue in these schools not what the child wears! Sign the Say No To School Uniforms petition! AT LEAST GIVE THE PARENTS A CHANCE TO VOTE ON WHETHER OR NOT WE WONT OUR CHILDREN TO WEAR UNIFORMS! WE ONLY WANT YOUR SIGNATURE IF YOU AGREE WE DO NOT WANT ANY DONATIONS!

The momentum behind this is undeniable and it proves that parents have finally had enough of this pointless uniform policy. The school board can no longer ignore the fact that we are fed up with these garbage rules that do nothing but drain our bank accounts. Keep pushing because they are starting to feel the heat.

We as Parents at the very least would like a chance to vote whether or not we would like our kids in uniforms. *Crystal Conner*

Uniforms need to go. How many people made it through school and became perfectly functional, productive members of society, before we had uniforms? Education not Regulation.

Would definitely save us all some money! It gets expensive having to constantly buy replacements and larger sizes for two separate wardrobes for each of my children! The fact that my children growing like weeds, as well the majority of the other children in school, is an understatement!! No more school uniforms!

School uniforms should not be forced on students to wear. Even if students have to wear uniforms there are still students that get picked on. Wearing uniforms don’t help. It is the parents or something that is bothering them at home.

I have the same issue. My daughter wears everything according to policy and yet she still gets pointed out for her pants, when there is NOTHING wrong with them. Other than being a Jean lookalike but with some SLIGHT stretch to them, even though hers are not form fitting like MANY others I see in her school. Jeggings are not allowed, yet I see others wearing these EVERY DAY at her school, and my girl has the Dicky style pants and she STILL gets pointed out. It's all very frustrating, inconvenient and gets expensive! I say OUT with the uniform policy! Allow them to be comfortable in their own style, but of course keep it presentable. (aka..no sagging pants, no TIGHT fitting clothing...) Nothing hard about that.

I want my kids to express themselves, in the way they comb there hair , tie their shoes ,and wear their clothes, I want them to be able to choose in the morning what to put on with my aproval. Uniforms get expensive and basically turns out that's the only clothes ur kids end up having because you can't afford home clothes , school clothes ,dress up or outing clothes always end up being uniform attire , taking my kids to weddings , christmas, etc. Ends up looking like I'm about to go drop him off at school . I want an end to this uniform mess.

I think school uniforms are enforcing strict gender norms on children because making girls wear shirts and ties and blazers and trousers are literally trying to say that masculinity should be the default even when options like skirts are allowed. It’s just treated as an option and most schools are banning skirts so it’s basically trying to say that patriarchy is winning and you know femininity is just declining which is just not fair and these stupid excuse that it makes children reduce bullying and it makes people not worry about what they’re wearing to school is a ridiculous argument because uniforms don’t exist in other countries around the world wealthy countries like Europe America France Germany don’t have uniform uniforms and kids are functioning perfectly fine and kids already have to decide what they’re wearing outside of school and what are they going to do when they go sick Home, they do have to worry about what they’re gonna wear to school and it should be from a young age that they do understand

As long as the clothes aren't revealing or vulgar. Also if kids would like to wear uniforms that works. But dont force it upon students.
