Today, June 12th, there was a board meeting, and some of the students and parents were informed that school uniforms will be coming back to Quitman School District the year of 2017-2018. The school year of 2016-2017 was a success in my opinion, and this petition is to inform all the people that your voice does matter and together we can make a change. No uniforms, focus on things that need fixing. Supplies, education, meals, policies, safety, discipline, we had a great year without uniforms. Kids are happier and more comfortable in their clothing. Kids can grow 2 and 3 sizes in a school year its too much added expense for parents, i know i felt the savings with 3 children this last year. Lets stay focused on things that need our attention and support. This is silly and petty and just a way to distract everyone from the real problems that need attention.
I feel like we should wear the cloths of our choice, because if the schools really cared about the children they would understand that some children and they're parents can't afford uniforms, and that they should feel free to wear cloths that comfort them. -Thanks, Lance
It's a lot cheaper on parents to buy clothes that your child can wear at any time versus having to buy 2 sets of clothes, uniforms for school & regular clothes when they aren't at school. Sticking with the no uniform policy is definitely the better option in my opinion.
How can a child develop their personality if they have to be dressed in the same thing all the other kids are. It takes away from their personality leave it like it is
I feel like the uniforms are stupid. The school wants us to express ourselves but how can we express ourselves when we are confined to uniforms and look like everyone else.

Because uniforms is just as high as regular clothes , so I would rather go with regular clothes

I think the students felt good about not wearing uniforms. It's a public school not an academy school. I think that students should wear what regular clothes to school because it really save the parents money. We don't have to buy clothes for around home and uniforms. And I have 4 kids & it saved me more money last year than the year before. No uniforms.
