We, the residents of 600 W 144th Street, request that package lockers be installed on the property to alleviate a pattern of package theft. This has been particularly prevalent since there has not been an on-site building supervisor monitoring security cameras, for nearly a month.

The individual mailboxes are not large enough for anything larger than an envelope, and are only accessible by USPS. Delivery drivers almost always leave packages in the hallway, in full view of any passers-by to take as they wish. Surveillance video is only accessible when there is a supervisor on duty, and cannot be utilized unless a police report is filed - which costs money to the complainant, and will never be addressed.

Package theft can have major impacts on tenants who may be having important medical needs delivered, as well as inconvenience to those who cannot be home at all hours to wait for a package to be delivered.

If this is not amended, we will be requesting that the financial loss be rectified in a reduction of rent, corresponding to the value of the missing package(s) in each household. We will also be filing a complaint with the City to ensure that this problem is addressed through all necessary channels.
