The company just confirmed they are backing out of the Bence Court location. I am incredibly relieved that our town will finally be spared from another unnecessary store. Please stay sharp because we need to ensure that derelict building in the center is finally addressed next.

I walk past that derelict building in the town center every single day and the state of it just fuels my frustration. Seeing your comments confirms that I am not the only one tired of seeing our community treated this way while they push to open another shop.

Seeing this level of support confirms that I am not the only one frustrated by the state of our town center. It feels incredible to know so many of you are just as tired of seeing that derelict building sit empty while another overpriced shop moves in.

How many do we actually need?? Enough is enough. We need some variety in this town not just more of the same overpriced rubbish.
Seriously? Another one? We need a proper shop not another tiny co-op that charges double for everything.
AMEN. Amesbury is turning into just one big co-op. Give local businesses a chance for once.
Fix the old one in town first before opening another one. It looks like a total dump sitting there rotting away.
Tired of the co-op monopoly here. Prices are a joke and the shelves are always empty anyway. No more!!
I no longer shop in ANY of the Amesbury Co-op stores. I strongly feel they are holding the town of Amesbury back by not developing the old store, it's an eyesore, Amesbury deserves more!
Budgens was a good shop and a nice change from Co-op. The Co-op food is expensive and simply does not last so i have not been to one for two years in protest. It is seriously starting to look like corruption in the town council...how can Co-op get away with so much...somebody MUST be on the take here.
