We the undersigned residents and taxpayers of DeKalb County Illinois urge the elected members of the DeKalb County Board to reject the siting application of Waste Management of Illinois to expand the county landfill near Cortland. We do not believe the applicant has met the burden of proof standards set in the application process. We do not believe the location is safe. We do not believe the increased truck traffic if properly accounted for. We do not believe the proposal is in the best interest of DeKalb County Illinois. We urge our elected representatives to vote NO to the proposed landfill expansion.
